The UK construction sector faces a major skills shortage, with increasing demand for high-quality training that leads to sustainable careers. To help tackle this, Shanly Foundation is supporting a significant expansion of construction training facilities at Nescot (North East Surrey College of Technology).

With 70+ years of experience, Nescot will expand learner capacity, improve progression routes, and boost employability through hands-on, industry-aligned training. The project will also increase access to valuable skills and promote social mobility.

The redevelopment includes converting old workshops into spaces for painting, decorating, plastering, tiling, carpentry, plumbing, and bricklaying. Nescot will invest in specialist equipment and upgrade infrastructure for safety and efficiency.

This initiative supports Government construction apprenticeships and integrates immersive virtual learning technologies to better prepare learners for real-world careers.

Shanly Foundation is proud to back this project, which will close skills gaps, grow the workforce, and open new career opportunities across the community.
