Our donation of £5,000 will be used towards The Wessex Heritage Trust’s Memory Box Project which supports people living with dementia in Hampshire. Each memory box includes items such as antiques, replicas, smell boxes, sounds and fact sheets.
During the sessions, a variety of tools are used to stimulate four of the five senses, touch, sight, hearing and smell, to evoke memories of the past for all participants. This has shown to stimulate individuals with dementia and their families and carers report their loved ones being happier as a result.
