The Shanly Foundation was delighted to support The Garden Shed Project. Based in Chesham.
The charity focus on community gardening for people of diverse abilities, and their latest project was build a greenhouse on the Cameron Road allotments in Chesham. The greenhouse will enable year-round gardening opportunities for the charity’s members. With all materials funded by the Foundation, the charity was delighted when commercial property business, Sorbon Estates (part of the Shanly Group of companies) teamed up to supply the knowledge and manpower to build the greenhouse.
Five volunteers from Sorbon Estates gathered on Friday, 8 November to assemble the new greenhouse, which will be used for growing plants, teaching gardening skills, and supporting the charity’s mission to promote sustainable practices and mental well-being through community horticulture.
Sian Britnell, The Garden Shed Project Leader said:
‘Thanks to funding from the Shanly Foundation and volunteers from Sorbon Estates, our vision has come to life. The team were incredible; they worked efficiently, brought great energy, and were wonderfully inclusive with our members, involving them every step of the way. It was a day of teamwork, laughter, and accomplishment made possible by the generosity of the Shanly Foundation.’
