The ‘Apprenticeshop’

Welcome to the ‘Apprenticeshop’!

A pop-up charity shop on Maidenhead High Street, the Apprenticeshop brainchild of Beech Lodge School, has enabled both its own pupils, and pupils from local schools Forest Bridge, and Manor Green, the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience, develop their social skills through interaction with the local community, raise money for local charities, and promote sustainability. What an achievement!

The Apprenticeshop opened its doors to the public in September 2023, housed in a vacant shop unit owned by Sorbon Estates, and sells items donated by the public, made by the pupils at Beech Lodge, and ex-show home furniture and accessories donated by Shanly Homes.

The collaboration between the three specialist schools has enabled the shop to open almost every day, and provided work experience for over 30 pupils who have gained key life skills which will help them take their next steps into the world.

Shanly Foundation is delighted to support Beech Lodge School and the Apprenticeshop.
