We are proud to support SANE, a mental health charity offering support to anyone suffering with mental illness.
Raising awareness and combating the stigma surrounding mental health, SANE work with individuals and their families to provide emotional support and specialist services through their SANEline helpline, email, Textcare one-way phone messaging service, SANE Community an online forum and ongoing support services.
Their volunteer training programmes promote understanding of various mental health conditions, treatments and the workings of the mental health sector, while instilling active listening skills and the ability to deal with difficult emotions.
Taking 40 hours over three months to train one volunteer, followed by an additional three months of intensive development, once training is complete, the volunteer commits to a minimum of one 4-hour shift per week on SANEline, for 45 weeks of the year – a staggering 180 hours per person per year given for free.
