How to apply
Shanly Foundation awards grants to charities and community organisations working within our local area. This page takes you through the application process from checking your eligibility to submitting your application.Â

Which fund is right for you?
We offer three main grant funds. You can apply to only one per year.
- General Applications Fund – open throughout the year to a wide range of local organisations.
- Training & Careers in Construction Fund – open all year for projects supporting skills, training, and careers in construction.
- Action Against Homelessness Fund – open once per year for charities tackling homelessness or supporting those at risk.
Useful application information
When you are ready to submit your application you will be asked to create an account and complete the relevant application form.
- The form will guide you step by step.
- You can save and return to it later.
- We recommend submitting your application at least 10 weeks before you need a decision.

 What happens next?
After submission:
- Applications are reviewed by our Awards Officer, who may request further information.
- Trustees meet monthly and applications are usually reviewed within three months of receipt.
- For the Action Against Homelessness Fund, shortlisting takes place within eight weeks of the closing date.
- You will be notified of the Board’s decision in writing.
- If successful, payment is normally made within two weeks of receiving your award confirmation.
- All grant recipients will be asked to complete a short form to share the outcomes of their work.
