Friends of SPICE (Special People on Ice) have received a donation of £2,100 from the Shanly Foundation which will be used to purchase 30 new shirts for their home and away games.
SPICE was started in 2012 to help young people with physical learning and/or other disabilities participate in ice skating and ice hockey. They teach both children and young adults who have additional needs how to ice skate in a calm and caring environment. They run numerous ability groups which allow their members the best opportunity to develop their skating abilities. In addition to regular skating, SPICE has been also teaching ice hockey since 2006. The sessions take place each Sunday at the Ice Arena in Slough.
