CALM Missed Birthdays

Shanly Foundation are proud to support Maidenhead Football Club and CALM as CALM launch their powerful new campaign, Missed Birthdays.

This initiative is aimed at raising awareness around youth suicide, using an impactful installation that features birthday balloons – symbols of hope and the future – to spark a national conversation about a heartbreaking reality.

In the last decade, 6,929 young people in the UK have taken their own lives. These aren’t just statistics – they’re young lives cut tragically short, people who never had the chance to celebrate their next birthday.

This World Suicide Prevention Day, CALM is also launching the C.A.R.E Kit – a free, evolving online resource designed to provide adults with practical tools to support young people who may be struggling.

The kit focuses on four key actions:

  • Check in
  • Ask how they are
  • Remain close
  • Expert help

Maidenhead Football Club are committed to supporting CALM’s mission and will be sharing their posts next week. They also plan to collaborate on a local campaign with Maidenhead United Juniors to bring this vital message to our community.

Let’s all take a moment to recognise the importance of being there for the young people in our lives. We all have a role to play in keeping them safe.
