Alternatives Watford provide emotional and practical support for those facing pregnancy-related challenges. They have two charity shops, in Watford and Hemel Hempstead, which sell second-hand clothes, equipment, toys and books for babies and children aged 0-5 years and pregnant women. The charity also provide baby boxes (pictured) for new mothers which contain a brand-new mattress, sheet, sleep suits, vests, cardigans, bibs, blankets, towels, nappies, toiletries and a teddy. The box takes up less space than a cot or a crib and can be used for a newborn baby to sleep in. Our donation of £1,000 will be used towards this baby box programme.
