Students studying and with an interest in construction from Altwood, Desborough and Furze Platt Senior schools visited Shanly Homes’ Boulters Meadow development site in Maidenhead in the week before Christmas. The site visits were organised with educational charity SATRO, who are supported by the Shanly Foundation, to offer students who are thinking about a career in construction encouragement plus invaluable insights into the industry. On site the students toured the development and had the opportunity to see trades, including bricklaying, plumbing and carpentry, at work. The students also viewed the finished produce by walking round the impressive show home. The students and tutors found the day beneficial and the site staff welcomed the opportunity to encourage the next generation to join the industry.
