Slough Homeless Our Concern (SHOC)

SHOC has received a £10,000 donation from the Shanly Foundation to help towards providing accommodation and support for homeless people.
The charity began work in 1997, and since then have helped over a thousand people. It is a day centre which offers care for homeless people, and those who are in danger of becoming homeless, in Slough. They help create beginnings for homeless people to get stable homes, learn new skills and find employment. Focusing on three areas which are, crisis care, recovery and skills training. It is the only centre within a 20-mile radius that offers the homeless both crisis care and long term transformational help towards independence.
While Slough is home to many successful international companies, around 15% of the residents in the town, live in communities that are among the 20% most deprived income areas in the country.
